used a king-size ComfortAire for about 14 years until we graduated to a=20
Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress. That was several times longer than =

mattress (waterbeds) had worked for us. </P>

to 300 lbs. Merrily is 5' 2" and weighs a whole heck of a lot less. </P>

"dicking" with the controls.</P>

it around on the frame at all. </P>

the years another thing we have seen in this progression from Beautyrest =

Sealy to Serta to waterbeds to CraftMatic adjustible bed (yep, we even =

of those) to Comfortaire and finally to Tempur-Pedic is that waterbeds =
and air=20
beds get cold or hot(waterbeds) on my "down" side. One might think that =
this=20
would be a good thing if the temperature was matched to the time of the =
year but=20
it actually makes being "comfortable" all night almost impossible. Leg =
cramps,=20
stiff muscles, hot and cold sweats seem to be part of that territory and =
we were=20
never able to reach stasis on any of these mattresses. However, this has =
not=20
been a problem with the Tempur-Pedic. </P>

Tempur-Pedic is fully broken in (which may take a year or more) it =

what it says and I often wake up 3 hours or more in the same position I =
went to=20
sleep in. That would have been great when I was 30 but at 61 it can take =
me a=20
few grunts and groans to get mobile enough to go to the bathroom =
(usually the=20
only reason I wake up during most nights, anyway). It is also much =
kinder to the=20
joints and appendages that want to fall asleep on their own. Like a =
waterbed I=20
can sleep on my side with my arm over my head or elbow tucked to my side =
under=20
me and not dream of amputations.</P>

and I don't know if this is even a possibility with a waterbed mattress =
on top=20
of it even if it has an air frame around it. </P>

"unrested"=20
nights. It will be replaced with either a Tempur-pedic (with stronger =
lifters)=20
or a Select Comfort type mattress as soon as we decide (read that as =
agree) on=20
one.</P>
